Are you a victim of low self esteem and searching for a way to improve the situation, feel good about yourself, and accomplish your goals in life? If so, I hope you find the described in this article helpful for building your self confidence and being your best self!
First of all, what’s self esteem. Well, self esteem is simply the way you perceive yourself. Your self esteem is developed, from birth and continue to the present, through thoughts and feelings about yourself as well as by the perceptions you get from other people. When how you perceive yourself is inconsistent with who you really want to be, your self esteem will be brought down.
Many self esteem activities can help boost your self esteem. But the most effective activities are the ones that take the deeper approach so that they can tackle the center of the problem. So first you should understand that is built upon a set frame of mind that prevents you from knowing and loving yourself. Not being able to love yourself is probably one of the main causes of low self esteem. Just think back how often you allow other people’s opinion to validate who you are.
So in order to build a , you need to change the frame of mind that causes low self esteem. Here are some simple self esteem activities you can do:
Self Esteem Activity 1: Be Conscious Of Your Thoughts
One of the most powerful ways to change the old and negative frame of mind that causes low self esteem is through the development of consciousness. This is because consciousness is a state of mind where we “meet” our inner Self. When we are in line with our real Self, we know what our life purpose is.
Being conscious is important also because at the consciousness state, the “inner dialogue” that causes low self esteem will clear. Think of how constantly your mind is being run by your “inner dialogue” unconsciously. This is because most of our mind activities, our self conversations, are at play 24/7, and they occur unconsciously. And usually these self talks are negative. If however, we pay attention to our inner dialogue, we can consciously STOP the conversation and replace it with a positive thought.
To accomplish consciousness, set aside at least ten minutes a day. Sit back and relax, take some deep breaths, pay attention to what comes to your mind. Let your thoughts flow naturally. Pay attention to them as they move around. Don’t make any comments about them. Continue this exercise everyday and over time you will develop a better consciousness which will make your old frame of mind subside.
Self Esteem Exercise 2: Affirmations
Another effective exercise is positive affirmations. The purpose of positive affirmations is to get to the subconscious mind level and replace negative thoughts with positive ones. Examples of positive self esteem are:
“I am a worthy person!”
“I am successful!”
“I achieve whatever goals I set for myself!”
For faster and more effective results, practice positive affirmations in front of a mirror. Look at yourself straight in the eye, say it outloud to yourself in the morning and at night. Keep saying the positive affirmations until you get a sense of something positive about yourself. Then put it into practice every day on a regular basis for a minimum of 30 days. In a short time, you’ll see that you have changed your perception about yourself because your usual frame of mind shatters.
Try these self esteem activities, they will help you feel good about yourself as who you really are, and realize your full potentials and life purpose!
