Copyright © 2012 avalon09. Visit the original article at http://raiseselfesteem.com/blog/958/living-with-the-troublesome-acne-problem-and-staying-optimistic/.

Acne is a skin condition that is widespread although for some it is more chronic because everyone is different. It is odd that there are people who will always have perfect skin which can be hard to understand for anyone who is a sufferer. The adolescent years can be hard and this is not helped by the fact that blemishes begin to come out in those age groups. The fact that it does not really injure you physically means that there is oftetimes a lack of understanding from others when you are suffering from acne. This is probably not intentional but to be told you will grow out of it does not truly help you at the time.

You can have a look at the best diet to lose belly fat right here.

The fact that the acne condition disappears at different times from person to person is a problem during the period you actually have it. Adults can nonetheless be affected and our recollections of this phase of life can obscure how it looked endless when it was actually happening to us. In learning to cope with an acne problem, since the effects are really to do with self-confidence, you may have to try to make a commitment to yourself that you will not become reserved and shy away from others. If you have some self-control, it will help when the acne problem is at its worst.

When it comes to your own friends, how do you feel about a person who has concerns with how they look? There is a good chance that they like you for who you are and you like them for who they are. Most individuals are more worried about themselves, so they are perhaps not giving that much importance to how you look. It helps if you ask someone else about their life and you will find yourself becoming more popular as a result.

If acne is causing damage to your confidence, you may find it helpful to be involved in looking into several ways the acne condition can be treated naturally. Physicians are there to help but it is discouraging if the acne condition continues to stay the same. Today we are far more aware of natural ways to help ourselves and so if you can educate yourself in a few of these areas, you may discover something that works. There is no doubt that your self-esteem will profit, if you are involved in finding a treatment that helps although curing the acne problem may not be possible.

Your overall well-being can be made better by taking things into your own hands. If you are eating well, for instance, or working out, this will be reflected on you as a whole. The impact of the condition will be lessened as you start to improve your life. Life will always throw problems in front of you and in getting through this, you will develop the inner strength to face things in the future.

If you take an optimistic outlook and look for ways to help yourself, you can enjoy each day regardless of the fact that you suffer from acne. Apart for skin problems you’ll be able to look at additional health realted matters mostly related to weight loss and the diets that really work such as the fat burning furnace diet and the metabolic diet on our web site.

From a positive way of looking at things, although he drank hazardously and abusively when he was a teenager and a young adult, when he got beyond the age of twenty-five he almost always drank in moderation.

After he finished his education he eventually got a job at a local truck assembly plant where he worked his way up from stock person, to office assistant, to purchasing assistant, to purchasing manager. Unlike his other positions, as the purchasing manager he frequently took existing vendors and potential vendors to lunch and to a variety of sporting events.

Though it was not written in stone, meeting with potential vendors and existing vendors time after time involved circumstances in which alcohol was present. Indeed, over the past sixteen months, Stanley had started to appreciably increase his work related and his social drinking. This has led to quite a quandary. More specifically, the more successful he became as a purchasing agent, the more heavily he began to drink.

His Increasing Feelings of Depression Also Made Him Question if He Was Becoming an Alcoholic

In fact, it didn’t take long at all before Stanley’s hazardous and irresponsible drinking started to negatively affect his health, his mental health, his work efficiency, the money in his savings account, and his relationships. After many weeks of excessive drinking, Stanley, if truth be told, started to be concerned about his abusive and unhealthy drinking and questioned whether his alcohol related problems were alcoholism signs. Moreover, his increasing bouts of depression also made him wonder if he was becoming an alcohol dependent person. In a word, Stanley clearly needed to learn more about the facts about alcohol abuse and alcohol addiction.

Stanley Needs Alcohol Detoxification and Alcohol Treatment For His Alcohol Dependency and a Medical Evaluation Regarding His Depression

So Stanley used his common sense, called his doctor, and made an appointment for a physical examination. A week later after seeing his healthcare practitioner, Stanley unfortunately was told that he was dependent on alcohol. His doctor told Stanley that he needed to get alcohol detoxification and alcohol rehabilitation for his alcoholism and that he also needed to get a medical evaluation regarding his depression. In a word, Stanley needed treatment for his alcoholism and depression.

The Positive News is That After His Treatment For Depression and For Alcoholism, He Felt Like a New Individual

His family doctor suggested to Stanley that he take a 30-day leave of absence from work and get enrolled in a quality in-patient alcohol rehab clinic where his depression could also be treated. This is specifically what Stanley did. The good news is that after his treatment for depression and for alcohol addiction, he felt like a new person. Indeed, now that he was in recovery he hardly ever got depressed and he now understood how to more successfully and productively manage his relationships, his job, his finances, and his health.

Not surprisingly, the most challenging “test” Stanley ran into was at the office. More precisely, he still took potential vendors and his existing vendors to lunch and to various sporting events, but after his alcohol rehab he managed to stay away from drinking while entertaining his clients.

It can be stressed that Stanley also learned that none of his potential vendors or his existing vendors thought any less of him because of his abstinence. Instead, he learned that his potential vendors and existing vendors respected him for staying strong to his convictions.

Stanley’s Better Health, Finances, Work Performance, and the Better Relationships He Experienced More Than counterbalanced His Love of Drinking

After Stanley went through alcohol rehab, however, he discovered that he was an individual who for whatever reason, could not drink in moderation or drink responsibly. In fact he found out the hard way that if he stayed away from drinking, all of the other meaningful parts of his life would be upgraded. At times, Stanley missed drinking, but the better work performance, health, finances, and the better relationships he experienced more than compensated for his love of drinking.

Regrettably, after engaging in this “party” lifestyle for about two-and-a-half years, he started to display numerous alcohol related issues.

Barry Begins to Experience Various Alcohol Related Issues

For instance, he had a real difficult time getting up for work because he felt so little energy when he got up. Moreover, just about every morning Barry had a nasty hangover. In a word, the combination of his lack of energy and his hangovers did not make it easy for him to get up and feel energized to go to work. To make things worse, around a week ago he received his second driving under the influence citation in the past two years.

To complicate things further, at his place of employment his last two work assessments were less than suitable. And finally, his six-and-a-half-year relationship with his girlfriend had declined due to his angry outbursts, lack of patience, financial difficulties, and his depression.

Though Barry was only twenty-three years old, he frankly began to look like he was in his early forties. Unfortunately, this is what irresponsible and excessive drinking can do to a person. And from a realistic perspective he grasped the fact that he was experiencing the adverse consequences of alcohol abuse or alcohol addiction and that he was too young to throw away his life to abusive and hazardous drinking. So initially he tried to drink in moderation. Regrettably, he soon comprehended the fact that he lost his self control after consuming his first drink. Stated more precisely, after his first drink he invariably proceeded to get intoxicated. Due to the fact that this was an event that was repeated every time he went to a bar to drink, this disturbed him greatly. In fact, he started to wonder if he was displaying some of the signs of alcoholism and alcohol abuse.

Barry Makes up His Mind To Schedule an Appointment to See His Physician

After talking about his excessive alcohol consumption and his careless and irresponsible drinking with his girlfriend, he eventually made up his mind to schedule an appointment to see his healthcare professional. When Barry saw his healthcare practitioner, he sincerely mentioned that he has been drinking in an excessive manner, that he may be manifesting alcoholic signs, and that he wants to stop drinking. He then said that drinking responsibly and in moderation doesn’t work well for him and, as a result, he wants to learn how he can live without drinking alcohol.

Barry also told his healthcare practitioner about his depression and how this mental health problem was negatively influencing his relationship with his girlfriend. His doctor referred Barry to Doctor Clark, an alcohol and drug addiction specialist, who persuaded Barry to enter into an alcohol and drug rehab clinic as an in-patient for alcohol detox and alcohol treatment. Fortunately, Barry would also be able to get medical treatment for his depression at this treatment facility.

Abstaining From Drinking Was the Best Decision Barry Had Ever Made

After five months of intensive rehab, Barry left the residential rehab facility and continued his recovery via outpatient therapy and via going to local Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Motivated to change his life in a healthier manner, Barry went to a health store and bought some vitamins and a cookbook. He then joined a fitness center and began working out three or four times per week. Within five months Barry was a new man. He wasn’t depressed anymore, he was in shape, he was eating nutritious meals, he now looked younger than he was, and most important of all, he maintained his sobriety for many months. He also didn’t resort to angry outbursts, he became more patient, and he became a more loving individual in his relationship with his lady friend. In brief, abstaining from drinking was the best decision Barry had ever made.

Stated simply, he missed his old enthusiasm for doing various things he enjoyed, he was tired of going through broken relationship after broken relationship due to his constant drinking, he was sick of feeling tired every morning, he was mad at himself for spending his hard-earned money on a worthless habit, and he hated the hangovers he went through on a recurring basis.

Furthermore he was fed up with paying for alcohol-related lawyer fees, he hated the fact that he had to go to court for his second DWI, he was disgusted with how out-of-shape he was, he was irritated with the many times he failed an alcohol test at work, and he was bored with his drinking buddies.

Above and beyond the noticeable alcohol-related health problems he was experiencing, possibly the most damaging part of his drinking behavior was the undependable and scheming individual he had turned into. In his heart he realized that he had been less than truthful about his drinking behavior to his relatives, family, and friends and he also knew he had been untruthful with himself about the “positive” effects of drinking. Not only this but he made excuses for guzzling four or five drinks before going to social events and he also justified needing one or two drinks the first thing in the morning so that he could manage the “tension” at work.

His Depression and His Hazardous and Heavy Drinking Result in Major Changes in His Life

Clearly Samuel was sick of putting up with the adverse outcomes of his depression and his hazardous and abusive drinking and at long last made up his mind that something major had to change in his life. So he decided that he would abstain from drinking, start exercising, involve himself in some worthwhile hobbies, get professional counseling, start focusing on becoming a more healthy person, and develop a new circle of friends.

Simply put, Samuel got to a pivotal time in his life during which he realized that he hit rock bottom and was now ready to begin the gradual path that leads to recovery.

One of the ways that Samuel put his “plan” info operation was by asking for a transfer at his workplace. When his request was approved, he moved 650 miles away to a new city. If nothing else, this positively made making new friends and separating himself from his old buddies much simpler. Then he contacted a physician in his new city and made an appointment for a comprehensive exam.

Samuel Meets With a Healthcare Practitioner About His Excessive and Irresponsible Drinking and His Depression

After meeting with the healthcare professional and taking a number of laboratory tests, it was concluded that Samuel had made the transition from alcohol abuse to alcohol addiction and consequently was in need of alcohol rehab and alcohol detoxification. At this time, the healthcare practitioner made it a point to discuss the different signs of alcoholism, the symptoms of alcoholism, and information about long term alcohol effects with Samuel.

The physician then told Samuel that it was determined that he was clinically depressed and in need of treatment for this medical problem.

Samuel Decides to Fortify His Body by Living an Alcohol-Free Way of Life, Taking Vitamins, Going to the Gym, Drinking Distilled Water, and Eating Healthy Foods

Due to his readiness to follow through with the rehabilitation therapy, after eleven weeks of inpatient treatment, Samuel was ready to begin rehabilitation on an outpatient basis. At this time, he began working at his new job and over the weeks began revitalizing his body by living an alcohol-free lifestyle, drinking spring water, eating nutritious foods, exercising, and taking vitamins.

Samuel also came to grips with his spiritual life by joining the local Calvinist church and attending regular services.

After around seven weeks of outpatient treatment during which time he never suffered through a relapse, Samuel stopped going to alcohol treatment and instead started going twice per week to local AA meetings. Going to these meetings helped Samuel maintain his alcohol-free style of life, they gave him the support he needed, and they served as a steady reminder of the dangerous consequences that are correlated with careless drinking.

After going to AA meetings roughly nine months Samuel felt that he was ready for a relationship and so he started dating Sally, a young lady he met at church. It clearly surprised Samuel how much more prepared he was for a dating relationship now that he had his unhealthy drinking under control. In truth it also astonished Samuel how much better life was now that he wasn’t under the control of his careless and abusive drinking. Life was now joyful and loaded with potential that he could have never wished for or realized when he was engaged in careless drinking just a few short months ago.

A Success Story That is Evidence of the Relevance of Alcohol Rehabilitation and the Power of Positive Thinking

Samuel’s success story is a verification of the significance of alcohol rehabilitation and the power of change. As Samuel thought about his newfound lofty self concept and drive for involving himself in worthwhile, healthy activities, he was actually thankful that he made up his mind to do something productive about his abusive and excessive drinking rather than giving into his depression and into the lure of his addiction. The result: he is in charge of his life rather than letting himself languish under the control of his alcohol dependency, he has more energy now compared with any time in his adult life, his life now has a positive direction, he is involved in a wholesome relationship, and he likes his new job responsibilities.

Copyright © 2012 avalon09. Visit the original article at http://raiseselfesteem.com/blog/185/a-young-man-needs-therapy-for-his-extreme-depression-relationship-difficulties-and-for-his-drug-and-alcohol-dependency/.

About nine months ago I had lunch with a thirty-year-old man named Alexander who suffers from acute depression, has relationship issues, and who is drug and alcohol dependent. As articulated by Alexander, it is his alcohol and drug addiction and his acute depression that had the most to do with his constant relationship difficulties.

I recall hearing that a history of mental health issues, chemical dependency, and hazardous and abusive drinking many times happen in the same family. In addiction, I remember hearing that in such situations, a person needs to get treatment for both medical problems and that chemical dependency and mental health issues many times take place in the same person.

As affirmed by Alexander, he is so dejected by his relationship issues and by both of his medical issues that he in effect has little or no reason to accomplish much of anything. What is particularly unfortunate about this is that earlier in his life, Alexander managed to finish two semesters of grad school in middle Eastern studies.

Alexander’s condition makes me wonder if he is an illustration of a person who can look in the mirror and perceive his drug abuse and alcohol drinking problems and do something healthy about these issues or if he is a person who has to hit life’s bottom before he gets drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation that leads to long lasting recovery.

The Need For a Rehab Regimen He Can Believe In and a Therapist He Can Trust

If it would be helpful I would assume that I could suggest several websites that could possibly help him find info about drug abuse symptoms, the stages of alcoholism, chemical dependency information, and relationship problems. In my honest opinion, however, Alexander needs to locate a counseling program he can believe in and follow over the long term and locate a physician he can trust.

I could be in error but it seems to make sense that Alexander probably needs to look within himself regarding his drug addiction signs and alcoholic symptoms and acknowledge the fact that he cannot use drugs or even drink in moderation if he wants to get sober, stay sober, and start on the path to long-term recovery.

It may be asked how therapy would help his chemical dependency. First of all, there are quite a few newly created doctor-prescribed meds that can help Alexander through his withdrawal symptoms, through the alcohol and alcohol detoxification process, and help him avoid a drug or an alcohol relapse.

Second, Alexander would learn to concede the fact that there is entirely nothing positive about drug abuse and excessive and careless drinking and that involving himself in one or both circumstances is the road to deteriorating health, shattered relationships, a premature death, financial difficulties, legal problems, and poor work and school performance.

Third, counseling for his depression and for his relationship problems might help him manage these psychological issues more successfully and possibly create less of a need for him to involve himself in addictive behavior.

The Significance of Support Groups Like Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous

There are reasonably numerous other people, family members, and friends who would desire to help Alexander with his substance abuse and his abusive and unhealthy drinking. He possibly would experience greater acceptance from a recovery group such as Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous, on the other hand, instead of getting advice from people who rarely drink or who have never taken drugs.

When Individuals Accomplish Things They Like and About Which They Are Dedicated

There’s a philosophical viewpoint that emphasizes that individuals who do things they love and something about which they are ardent attain an astonishing place in life. Stated more accurately, when people do what they love, they almost never go through an uneventful life or boredom. If they involve themselves in something that is enjoyable, what is more, they become more complete and experience more happiness and delight in life and in their relationships.

When this is examined more closely it becomes apparent that this uplifting way of thinking is poles apart from a life that is rooted in substance abuse because such a lifestyle removes the contentment and joy that life offers.

Due to the fact that Alexander doesn’t have the ambition to do much of anything in his life, it is clear that he badly needs some hope for a more fulfilling life. And the unfortunate thing is that hope is virtually everywhere around Alexander if he could only get to the point in life to get the counseling he needs for his intense depression and drug dependence and alcohol addiction and remain in his treatment protocol.

Enhanced Relationships, A Meaningful Life, Self Respect, and Positive Change Are a Reality

Alexander is simply too young to be dejected in life. He doesn’t understand this at the moment but if he can learn how to remove himself from alcohol and drugs through drug and alcohol rehabilitation and get the treatment he needs for his extreme depression, he can redirect his life and start living with direction, passion, and with self-respect.

More positive relationships, affirmative change, self esteem, and a wonderful life are certainly possibilities for Alexander if only he could become motivated to get the professional rehabilitation he requires, follow through with his therapy program, live his life in a healthy and drug and alcohol-free way, and learn how to acquire a more positive attitude about his existence.

Copyright © 2012 avalon09. Visit the original article at http://raiseselfesteem.com/blog/179/a-young-female-requires-treatment-for-her-mental-illness-and-for-her-alcohol-and-drug-addiction/.

Roughly a month ago I met a twenty-seven-year-old woman named Rachael who is bipolar and who is also dependent on alcohol and drugs. I have read that under such circumstances, an individual needs to get treatment for both medical problems and that mental health problems and chemical dependency frequently take place in the same individual. Moreover, I recall reading that a history of careless drinking, drug addiction, and/or mental health issues many times happen in the same family.

Plainly, Rachael is so defeated by both of her medical problems that she in actual fact has little or no ambition to complete much of anything. What is particularly sad about this is that earlier in her life, Rachael managed to finish one-and-a-half years of college. Rachael’s condition makes me wonder if she is an example of a person who has to hit the bottom of the barrel before he or she gets alcohol and drug dependency rehab that leads to lasting sobriety.

The Need For a Psychologist She Trusts and a Rehabilitation Program She Can Believe In

If I were in contact with Rachael I could suggest more than a few websites that could possibly help her find info about addiction and alcoholic behavior, relevant substance abuse information, facts about alcoholism and drugs, and info about addiction symptoms and alcoholism warning signs. From where I stand, nevertheless, Rachael needs to find a doctor she trusts and a rehab protocol she can believe in and follow through over the long term. I could be in the wrong but it seems to make sense that Rachael probably needs to admit the fact that she cannot drink responsibly or use drugs if she wants to get sober, remain sober, and start on the path to long-term recovery.

I am mindful that there are some newly developed physician-prescribed meds that can help Rachael through her withdrawal symptoms, through the alcohol and alcohol detox process, and help her avoid a drug or an alcohol relapse. Obviously it would be in Rachael’s best interests if she became conversant with these medications.

I would think that Rachael needs to concede the fact that there is absolutely nothing healthy about careless drinking and substance abuse and that involving herself in one or both circumstances is the path to poor work and school performance, legal problems, shattered relationships, deteriorating health, financial difficulties, and a premature death.

The Significance of Support Groups Like Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous

There are probably a lot of persons such as other individuals, family members, and friends who would want to help Rachael but she probably would experience greater tolerance from a recovery group such as Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous rather than listening to individuals who drink responsibly or who have never taken drugs.

When People Accomplish Things They Love and About Which They Are Fervent

There’s a school of thought that declares that individuals who do things they like and something about which they are passionate reach a breathtaking place in life. In other words, when people do what they enjoy, they almost never experience boredom or an uneventful life. If they involve themselves in something that is satisfying, furthermore, they become more fulfilled and experience more pleasure and delight in life.

To me, this sounds like the exact opposite of a life that is centered in alcohol and drug addiction because such a lifestyle removes the contentment and delight that life offers.

Due to the fact that Rachael lacks the fortitude to do much of anything in her life, it is evident that she desperately needs some hope for a better existence. And the unfortunate thing is that hope is almost everywhere around Rachael if she could only get to the point in life to get the therapy she needs for her mental illness and drug dependence and alcohol addiction and adhere to her treatment protocol.

Beneficial Change, Self Esteem, and a Wonderful Life Are Possibilities

Rachael is simply too young to be overwhelmed in life. She doesn’t realize this at the moment but if she can learn how to stay away from drugs and alcohol via drug and alcohol rehab and get the treatment she requires for her bipolar condition, she can reorient her life and start living with passion, self-respect, and direction.

Beneficial change, self respect, and a meaningful life are certainly possibilities for Rachael if only she could become inspired to seek the professional rehabilitation she requires, follow through with her treatment protocol, live her life in an addiction-free and healthy way, and foster a more positive attitude about her life.

Moreover, she has also been teaching Sunday school at the local Episcopalian Church. Even though she lived in a small countryside town where it appeared like every person knew everyone’s business, little if nothing was known about Jenny. It almost goes without saying that virtually everyone knew that she had worked quite a few years as a nurse practitioner and that she taught Sunday school for as long as she lived in their small community. Other than that, nevertheless, it almost appeared as if Jenny was simply a visitor in their community.

You can visualize the hoopla that happened when it was revealed that one Sunday morning Jenny had passed out due to inebriation. To be sure, the article in the local daily newspaper reported that Jenny not only passed out, but that she also was arrested for drunk driving because her blood alcohol concentration was considerably more than the legal limit. This is certainly one of the alcohol effects on the body that no Sunday school teacher wants to have discussed by the entire community. But this is specifically what took place, much to the dismay of Jenny.

Jenny Gets Extremely Distraught About Her DUI

Clearly, Jenny was very letdown about her arrest for driving while inebriated. Not only should she have known better about driving while intoxicated because of her nursing job, but she also should have conducted herself according to a more elevated standard because of the basic fact that she taught Sunday school.

After her arrest, Jenny contemplated whether or not she should move out of town so that she would not have to feel discontented about her arrest and also so she wouldn’t have to go over her actions for the five hundred thousandth time to the people in town. After talking to her minister, however, she made up her mind that she would get alcohol treatment at a local drug and alcohol rehab hospital. She did this for two fundamental reasons. First, it was convenient for her to drive to a local counseling center. And second, she frankly wanted the word to get spread among all the individuals in the community that she was openly addressing her abusive and hazardous drinking.

Jenny Goes Through Alcohol Detoxification and Gets a Thorough Physical Exam

After Jenny went through detoxification, she got thoroughly checked by a doctor at the drug and alcohol rehab hospital. She then underwent two or three laboratory tests where it was determined that she was not addicted to alcohol but rather was engaging in abusive and irresponsible drinking. In short Jenny was engaging in long term alcohol abuse.

Jenny was provided with the alternative of getting registered as an in-patient or getting alcohol treatment as an outpatient. Jenny, nevertheless, thought that she could still work as a registered nurse and retain her Sunday school teaching position if she were to be admitted as an out-patient and this is specifically what she did.

According to her treatment protocol, Jenny went to two sessions every three weeks, she learned quite a lot about alcohol info, she worked on her out-of-class “tasks,” and she found out how to do things in life that did not involve drinking.

After ten weeks, Jenny thought that her careless and hazardous drinking was under control and so she got discharged from the rehab center under the condition that she would return for follow up counseling once every three months for the next seven months. Jenny signed an agreement form and followed through on her “word of honor.”

Jenny Makes up Her Mind to Remove Herself From All Drinking Circumstances and Finds Out That Her Self Respect Becomes More Enhanced

After she finished her rehabilitation Jenny thought that she would be able to drink more responsibly than before. After reflecting on things more rigorously, nonetheless, she figured out that she would absolutely remove herself from any and all drinking situations.

When Jenny arrived at this conclusion, she discovered that her self-confidence grew the more efficiently she managed her life. And as her sense of worth grew, it appeared that she became more outgoing and began going to more town activities such as music festivals, local high school football and basketball games, flower festivals, rib roasts, strawberry festivals, carnivals, and Christmas tree lighting ceremonies.

Jenny Addresses Her Hazardous and Excessive Drinking, Makes up Her Mind To Do Something Affirmative About It, and Rediscovers Her Faith

As the years passed, the individuals in the community expressed more affection for Jenny because she was involving herself with them more often and also because she faced her hazardous drinking and made up her mind to do something productive about it. It may have been her imagination, but it also appeared that her Sunday school students manifested more respect and appreciation for her.

Jenny is a living example of a person who had a hazardous issue and who did something constructive about it. She is also someone who found out that her religious faith is not only something that is intrinsic, but that it is also something that affects the way in which an individual interrelates with other individuals.

As a matter of fact, due to his lethargy and lack of drive, he was without a job far more frequently than he was in a state of employment. And when he did find a job, he had an unusually difficult time getting to work in a timely manner, he usually got less than optimal performance appraisals, and he called off sick so regularly that he commonly got fired a week or two after he began working. It almost goes without saying that one of the outcomes of Jesse’s less than acceptable work history was the fact that he was almost totally broke on a day-to-day basis.

Regardless of Jesse’s awful employment history and financial misconduct, however, somehow he managed to drink in a hazardous and excessive manner on an everyday basis.

So it came as no big shock when Jesse got a second DWI. When he went before the court, the magistrate told Jesse that his alcohol-related actions was terrible and, as a consequence, he was going to sentence Jesse to serve seven months behind bars.

Time In The County Jail To Reflect On The Disruptive Outcomes of Hazardous and Abusive Drinking

During his time in jail, Jesse was expected to learn more about alcohol facts, about the harmful results of hazardous and excessive drinking, and he was required to get alcohol treatment. The judge stressed the fact that unless Jesse receives professional alcohol therapy and discovers how to live an alcohol-free life, he will most likely be spending a considerable amount of time in the municipal jail.

Jesse articulated that he understood what the magistrate was proclaiming but he still claimed that placement in the municipal jail was not the proper ruling. The magistrate thought otherwise and asserted that it was his job to keep alcohol abusers off the streets who drive and drink and who get arrested for a DWI. To authenticate this assertion, the judge quoted some revered, extensively researched alcohol statistics that underlined some of the damaging effects that are related to hazardous drinking.

Even though Jesse understood that he drank in a hazardous and excessive manner, he never believed that he was a person who was dependent on alcohol. So it was a real shocker when Jesse began suffering from alcohol withdrawals roughly six-and-a-half hours after getting locked up in jail.

To monitor his alcohol withdrawals in a harm free manner, Jesse was taken to a drug and alcohol rehab facility for alcohol detox and then brought back to the city jail. While locked up in the municipal jail Jesse received alcohol treatment but since he received this therapy as something that was forced upon him, he neglected to take ownership of his abusive drinking.

When his time behind bars was over, the magistrate without wavering told Jesse that he would be under careful surveillance and would be required to take random breath alcohol tests.

Jessie’s Excessive and Abusive Drinking Prevents Him From Living in an Adult and Mature Manner

After hearing how Jesse was unsuccessful in taking ownership of his drinking problem and how he unwillingly followed the treatment code of behavior while in jail, the magistrate knew that it was just a matter of time before he would be seeing Jesse once again in court about his irresponsible drinking behavior. As the magistrate thought about Jesse’s circumstance, he couldn’t help but think about how some individuals never use their brain and learn how to live in a responsible and accountable manner.

An Old Relationship Strengthens Jesse’s Self Esteem and Inspires and Motivates Him to Thoroughly Change His Life

But something happened in Jesse’s life that completely changed his unsafe lifestyle. One day when he was at the local grocery store buying chewing tobacco, he met Alice, a girl he hadn’t seen since the sixth grade. After some small talk, Alice frankly told Jesse that due to her alcohol and drug addiction she was lucky to be alive.

When Jesse asked her what happened to change her life, she told Jesse that when her cousin Marilyn died from a drug overdose, this forced her to see the destructive and harmful life she had been living.

She underlined the point that the first thing she did after her cousin’s funeral was to begin going back to the church she attended when she was in elementary school. That was seven years ago and with the help, support, and guidance of her reverend and other people who went to her church, she started going to Alcoholics Anonymous and she also got alcohol and drug counseling at the local drug and alcohol treatment hospital. Alice told Jesse that in spite of a couple of rough moments, she is finally on the path to long term recovery and feeling a sense of happiness and delight for the first time since she was a young adult. When Jesse accepted Alice’s invitation to attend her parish she was pleasantly surprised. After going to roughly four or five church services, for the first time since he dropped out of high school, Jesse felt an augmented sense of self esteem and began thinking that perhaps there was hope for him and that he could finally address his alcohol and drug problems and start living a more productive and rewarding life.

For “Alcohol Attentiveness Month” he determined that he would give his attention to the following three topics for a class assignment: alcoholism symptoms, alcoholism statistics, and alcoholic symptoms.

After Mr. Blake put the final touches on the topics that would be given to his students, he made a decision that he would give them their assignment the following Friday morning.

When “assignment day” eventually came, Mr. Blake met with his class, dispersed some appropriate facts and information, and then informed the pupils in his class about the topics he had chosen.

Why It Is Critical to Gain Knowledge and Learn How to Associate Alcoholism Statistics, Alcoholism Symptoms, and Alcoholic Symptoms with Real-Life Circumstances of People Who Are Alcohol Dependent

He then gave his students a general idea of some important alcoholism statistics and alcohol dependency symptoms and signs and highlighted how important it is to figure out how to correlate these statistics, facts, and symptoms with the real-life situations of alcohol dependent individuals. He then gave the members of his class a short explanation about the relevance of learning more about alcohol dependent individuals and how they exist on an everyday basis.

Mr. Blake informed the pupils in his class that they could concentrate on one of the three topics or research all three topics and how they are interconnected. For all intents and purposes this would be analogous to a basic overview but done in a more far-reaching way.

Another option that he offered to his students was the following: opt for a topic such as alcohol dependency signs and symptoms, inquire into things more comprehensively, and then go over four or five signs and symptoms. Mr. Blake then mentioned that the same principals apply to the other two topics, namely, alcoholism statistics and alcoholic symptoms.

The end result of their research would be a four thousand word research paper and then a five minute oral presentation that would be given in front of the class.

Presenting The Results of An Academic Inquiry at the Regional Chemical Dependency Conference

As acknowledgment for their outstanding intellectual attainment, the pupils with the top five overall grades on the research project and on the oral presentation will be asked to present the results of their investigation at the district substance abuse conference during the last ten days of May.

After the pupils were given the assignment for their project, several of them raised their hands and asked for a demonstration of a sub-topic that they could center their attention on for their investigation.

In reaction, Mr. Blake determined that he would concisely chat about two or three alcoholism signs and symptoms that the students could develop.

As an illustration, Mr. Blake articulated the following alcohol addiction symptoms and signs: boasting and a “big shot” complex, cloudy thinking, an obsession with drinking, and loss of control.

Discussing How Alcoholism Symptoms, Alcoholic Symptoms, and Alcoholism Statistics Are Disclosed in the Life of an Alcoholic

After going over these alcoholism signs and symptoms, Mr. Blake then told the pupils in the class that they could do some further study on each symptom, gather some pertinent information, give a number of illustrations of each sign or symptom, and state how each sign or symptom is revealed in the life of an alcoholic.

As acknowledged by Mr. Blake, because there are more than a few alcoholism signs and symptoms to select, he brought up the fact that he was not exceedingly fretful about two or more students deciding upon the same signs and symptoms for their research project.

To be sure, even if two or more students were to select the same symptoms and signs, the illustrations that are related to each symptom or sign would undoubtedly add enough variety to keep away from duplicate content.

Mr. Blake then remarked that while there are quite a few alcohol addiction signs and symptoms that could be selected, the total number of alcoholism facts and statistics that could be discussed were virtually immeasurable. When the topic of alcoholic symptoms was added to the discussion, furthermore, the students understood quite rapidly that the three topics would provide an enormous amount of material from which to choose.

Why Mr. Blake Decided Upon Alcoholism Symptoms, Alcoholic Symptoms, and Alcoholism Statistics as the Topics For This Research Project

Why did Mr. Blake decide upon alcoholic symptoms, alcoholism statistics, alcoholism symptoms as the topics for this assignment? Mr. Blake’s wish was that by asking all of his pupils to examine one or more of the three alcoholism topics, he would be successful in enhancing the pupils’ self esteem by helping them achieve academic success and helping them come to a better conception of a complex yet significant topic such as alcoholism.

Mr. Blake also thought that by boosting the understanding of his students about the destructive effects of alcoholism and the miserable existence suffered by alcohol addicted people, his students would have a more positive attitude about their capacity to think more cautiously before they involved themselves in excessive and irresponsible drinking behavior.

They met while taking the same computer science class at a small, country, liberal arts college located in the far Western part of the United States. While they were merely good friends at first, they at long last started dating when they were in their first year of college.

Given the fact that both of them came from very conservative backgrounds, neither one of them drank very much beyond the testing stage when they first started to date. As the time progressed, then again, they started to go to more sorority and fraternity parties, football bashes, keg parties, and happy hours. As a consequence, they little by little began to drink more as time passed by.

Their Social Life Regularly Consisted of Going to Restaurants Three or Four Nights Per Week, Going to Parties With Their Friends, Going to Happy Hour With Their Friends, Going to Professional Sporting Events, and Going With Their Friends to the Local Watering Hole on the Weekends

After they graduated from college, they both got jobs in a small city that was nearly fifty miles from their undergraduate college. Then they eventually decided to move in with one another.

Given the fact that they were far removed from the college drinking scene, then again, their social life typically consisted of going to parties with their friends, going to restaurants three or four nights per week, going to happy hour with their friends, going to professional sporting events, and going to the local pub with their buddies on the weekends. In brief, Merissa and Augie began drinking quite extensively.

Now that they were living in the same apartment with one another and starting to get more resolute about their relationship, nonetheless, they started thinking about having children, becoming more responsible, buying a house, and getting married.

With any momentous transformation in a person’s life there is often something that triggers the particular transformation in question. For Augie and Merissa the idea of having children and buying a new house was this “vehicle for change.” To come to the point, for the first time in their lives, Merissa and Augie began to critically evaluate their irresponsible and abusive drinking and the alcohol long term effects on their health.

How Would Their Hazardous and Abusive Drinking Affect Their Relationship With One Another, Their Mental Health, Their Ability to Have Children, Their Relationship With Their Parents, and Their Finances?

Would their heavy drinking adversely affect their ability to have children? How would they be able to continue spending most of their money on drinking if they were to begin saving for a new house? How accountable would they be if they had children and continued to drink in a hazardous and irresponsible manner? How would they be able to face their parents and tell them about their long term dreams, plans, and hopes while they still drank in an abusive and excessive manner while having fun as they did when they were in college? What would their abusive and heavy drinking do to their relationship? How would their heavy and excessive drinking affect their mental health?

From a different slant on things, although neither one of them ever suffered from alcohol poisoning, received a DUI, or experienced alcohol withdrawal symptoms, they realized that their excessive and heavy drinking was becoming a troublesome issue that they could not ”sweep under the carpet” any longer.

After Giving Their Situation Considerable Deliberation, Merissa and Augie Finally Comprehended That Their Aspirations, Hopes, and Dreams Would not be Accomplished if They Continued Their Abusive and Heavy Drinking

All of these queries undeniably resulted in the same conclusion: Augie and Merissa needed to identify more completely with the fact that they couldn’t continue their heavy and irresponsible drinking if their goals, aspirations, and dreams were to be realized.

Once they settled upon this conclusion, they advised their drinking pals about their plans to start a family, about their marital plans, and about their goal of buying or building a new house. They also told their drinking buddies that they still wanted to associate with them but that they would be drinking in strict moderation from this time forward so that they could begin realizing their future dreams, hopes, and plans.

Amazingly, all of their buddies expressed relief because they too had been reappraising their lives and concluded that their life-styles were much too frequently centered around drinking. They also felt that they would have to change radically if they were to become more adult-like and show more forethought for their health, their careers, and for their aspirations in the next five or ten years.

After their frank discussion with their friends about their goals, aspirations, and dreams, Merissa and Augie in essence started to have more meaningful relationships with all of their friends and they experienced a bolstered sense of self esteem. The fundamental reason for this was the fact that all of them had the same mentality regarding their hazardous and irresponsible drinking and their short and long-term aspirations, goals, and plans.

He had studied ninjitsu, gatka, aikido, karate, and judo for four years; he was a body builder; he took daily minerals, supplements, and vitamins; he was into healthy eating and health foods; and he seemed like a natural for such a position. In fact, since he was concerned about his health, he started drinking in moderation about three years ago because he didn’t want to experience any negative alcohol effects on the body.

When Frank received the word that he had been hand picked for the job, he was extremely pleased. Due to the fact that this was an exclusive nightclub, however, he had to go through a six week training class.

Individuals At Nightspots Who Drink Abusively and Alcohol Overdose Signs and Symptoms

On the first day of class, the instructor started talking about drinkers who drink in an excessive manner and exhibit problem drinking and what the bartenders, bouncers, and barmaids should do when this condition arises. When the teacher started discussing alcohol poisoning, Frank was delighted to learn that all of the new barmaids, bartenders, and bouncers were required to learn about alcohol poisoning and what they should do when they spotted a person who was displaying some of the symptoms of alcohol poisoning.

More exactly, all the new bartenders, bouncers, and barmaids learned that nausea and vomiting were almost always the first signs of alcohol poisoning and that unconsciousness was almost certainly the most highly perceptible alcohol poisoning sign or symptom. The instructor also made it a point to highlight the fact that alcohol poisoning symptoms were messages from the brain and from the body that the person has ingested more alcohol than his or her body can metabolize.

There were, nevertheless, numerous other signs and symptoms of alcohol poisoning that all the new barmaids, bartenders, and bouncers were trained to be aware of. For instance, the members in the class learned that people who experience alcohol poisoning exhibit poor reflex responses, exhibit confusion, are difficult to awaken, and they often have seizures.

Not only this but, the members in the class learned that many individuals who experience alcohol poisoning also display slow, shallow or irregular breathing; blue tinged or pale skin; little response from painful stimuli, for instance from pinching; and slurred speech.

Not only this but, people who experience alcohol poisoning repeatedly exhibit an inability to make eye contact or sustain a conversation, they usually feel very ill and exhibit excessive vomiting, they often display erratic behavior, and they often pass out.

A Lecturer Clarifies Why Alcohol Poisoning is Not Inevitably Experienced Only by Alcohol Dependent Individuals

The trainer then clarified the point that alcohol poisoning is not always experienced only by people who are alcohol dependent.

More specifically, the teacher informed the class that most instances of alcohol poisoning were probably experienced by abusive drinkers and that a specific kind of abusive drinking called “binge drinking” was almost certainly the main precipitating factor in most instances of alcohol poisoning. The instructor then defined binge drinking as follows: consuming five or more alcoholic drinks at one sitting for males and drinking four or more alcoholic beverages at one sitting for females.

To demonstrate the impact that binge drinking has on alcohol poisoning, the lecturer explained to the members in the class that a drinker who gets drunk just once or twice on an annual basis, is by definition engaging in alcohol abuse, is probably not an alcoholic, but is more likely than not engaging in binge drinking. As declared by the teacher, engaging in binge drinking even once, regrettably, can result in alcohol poisoning that in some circumstances can be fatal.

The Teacher Give Details Why Letting A Drinker With Alcohol Poisoning Sleep is Not The Appropriate Plan of Action

One of the students in the class raised his hand and asked the trainer if it is a good idea to let a drinker with alcohol poisoning “sleep it off.” The instructor asserted that letting an individual with alcohol poisoning sleep is precisely what should not be done because doing so places the person at risk due to the fact that he or she is no longer being observed. Moreover, letting the person sleep when he or she experiences alcohol poisoning is the wrong response because the individual may never awaken.

The lecturer then explained to the class members that the most fitting response for alcohol poisoning is the following: if it is suspected that a person has alcohol poisoning, call 911 and ask for immediate medical assistance, even if the drinker is underage. By taking this plan of action, the drinker will get the prompt alcohol poisoning treatment he or she needs.

Conclusion

After learning about alcohol poisoning and particularly about the symptoms and signs of alcohol poisoning, it can be emphasized, Frank bolstered his self esteem by wanting to learn even more critical information about these symptoms and signs that might save an individual’s life in the future. Undoubtedly, Frank learned that knowledge of the familiar alcohol poisoning symptoms and signs and knowing how to quickly and properly react to such symptoms and signs (by immediately calling 911 and asking for emergency medical assistance) can help a drinker avoid a fatal alcohol overdose.

She was fed up from seeing Barry come home late at night from drinking instead of spending time with her and their three sons. She was also drained from the DUI Barry recently received. Moreover she was fed up from generating justifications for her spouse when he couldn’t make it to work on time due to his problems with drinking. Not only this but she was apprehensive and depressed about the fact that their relationship was going downhill due to Barry’s excessive and careless drinking. And finally she was sick and tired of the risky financial situation into which he had put his family because of his hazardous and careless drinking behavior. In sum, Emily felt that her mental health was deteriorating because of her husband’s drinking problems.

When Careless and Excessive Drinking Motivates a Person to do Something Affirmative About a Person’s Drinking Problem

One Sunday afternoon when Emily was reflecting on what she could do about her husband’s hazardous and abusive drinking, she got to the point that she frankly had to do something constructive to cut into the unhealthy cycle of Barry’s hazardous and abusive drinking behavior.

So she looked in the yellow pages under “alcohol rehab” and located a number of rehab facilities that were all located less than thirty miles away from where she and Barry resided.

Since she didn’t know too much about these rehab clinics, she finally determined that she needed to call some of them and ask a couple of questions. When she called each treatment center she introduced herself and said that Barry, her husband, was manifesting unhealthy and abusive drinking behavior. She also stated that her spouse had a top-rate health insurance program at his job and that outpatient or residential alcohol dependency rehabilitation would be covered if a doctor in the company health program called for the rehabilitation.

At one treatment clinic, Emily was stunned that she was able to converse directly with a healthcare practitioner who suggested that she come to the treatment facility to go over her husband’s hazardous and excessive drinking behavior in more detail.

Emily Talks to a Healthcare Practitioner About Her Husband’s Hazardous and Abusive Drinking

When Emily arrived at the rehabilitation clinic, she filled out some required forms and then after around five or ten minutes got to see a healthcare practitioner.

After listening to Emily describe her husband’s abusive and excessive drinking, the healthcare professional in a compassionate but resolute manner told Emily how she may have played a part in her spouse’s abusive and careless drinking through the years by minimizing his drinking behavior instead of letting him go through the results of his abusive and unhealthy drinking behavior.

Emily Learns That She Has Been Enabling Her Husband’s Abusive and Irresponsible Drinking

Stated in a slightly different way, the therapist stated to Emily that she may have been accidentally enabling Barry’s hazardous and careless drinking behavior. The physician also emphasized the fact that even though Emily could not control her spouse’s conduct, with the support and encouragement of the treatment team at the healthcare clinic she would not only be able to learn how to stop contributing to Barry’s excessive and hazardous drinking but she would also be able to learn how to encourage him to make an appointment at the rehab facility so that he could discuss his abusive and excessive drinking behavior with a physician.

Fortunately after Emily discussed this with Barry, and he saw that she was serious, Barry told her that he had been quite upset with his careless and abusive drinking behavior and that he was quite pleased to hear that Emily wanted to do something constructive about his unhealthy and abusive drinking behavior. As a result, he made an appointment to see a therapist at the local alcohol treatment center. It almost goes without saying that this boosted Emily’s self esteem.

Barry Agrees to See a Counselor About His Excessive and Abusive Drinking

While simply calling a rehabilitation center does not mean that a person’s unhealthy and abusive drinking behavior will end or that one’s warning signs of alcoholism or the alcohol abuse signs one manifests will simply fade away, calling for an appointment is plainly a required component in the treatment process. And due to the fact that Barry was serious about getting professional assistance for his abusive drinking, the probability for a successful recovery was substantially increased.

Not only this, but she has also been teaching Sunday school at the local Nazarene Church. In spite of the fact that she lived in a medium size countryside community where it seemed like everybody knew everyone’s business, relatively little was known about Jenny. Needless to say virtually every person in town knew that she had worked numerous years as a registered nurse and that she taught Sunday school for as long as she was a resident of their small town. Other than that, however, it almost seemed as if Jenny was simply a visitor in their town.

You can imagine the commotion that was created when it was discovered that one Sunday morning Jenny had lost consciousness because of inebriation. If truth be told, the article in the community weekly paper articulated that Jenny not only became unconscious, but that she also received a DWI due to the fact that her blood alcohol concentration was considerably higher than the legal limit for intoxication. This is evidently one of the alcohol effects on the body that no Sunday school teacher wants to have made public to the entire community. But this is specifically what occurred, much to the dismay of Jenny.

Jenny Gets Very Discontented About Her Drunk Driving Arrest

It almost goes without saying that Jenny was quite unhappy about her drunk driving arrest. Not only should she have known better about drinking and driving because of her nursing job, but she also should have conducted herself according to a higher benchmark because of the simple fact that she taught Sunday school.

After her arrest, Jenny thought about moving out of town so that she would not have to feel letdown about her arrest and also so she wouldn’t have to explain her actions for the one millionth time to the other members of her community. After meeting with her pastor, however, she came to a decision that she would get alcohol counseling at a local rehab center. She did this for two precise reasons. First, it was convenient for her to drive to a local rehab hospital. And second, she honesty wanted the word to get spread among all the people in town that she was openly dealing with her unhealthy and excessive drinking.

Jenny Goes Through Alcohol Detoxification and Gets an Extensive Examination

After Jenny went through alcohol detox, she got completely checked by a physician at the alcohol rehabilitation hospital. She then underwent various lab procedures where it was verified that she was not addicted to alcohol but rather was engaging in abusive drinking. In a word Jenny was engaging in long term alcohol abuse.

Jenny was provided with the choice of getting admitted as a residential patient or getting alcohol counseling as an outpatient. Jenny, then again, believed that she could still work as a nurse practitioner and retain her Sunday school teaching job if she were to be registered as an out-patient and this is exactly what she did.

According to her treatment action plan, Jenny went to three sessions three times per month, she learned quite a bit about alcohol info, she worked on her out-of-class “assignments,” and she found out how to accomplish things in life without having a need for alcohol.

After eighteen weeks, Jenny determined that her hazardous drinking was under control and so she got discharged from the drug and alcohol rehabilitation hospital under the stipulation that she would return for a refresher course once every two months for the next seven months. Jenny agreed and followed through on her “word.”

Jenny Makes up Her Mind to Refrain From Any and All Drinking Situations and Learns That Her Positive Attitude About Herself Grows

After she finished her rehabilitation Jenny felt that she would be able to drink more responsibly and in moderation. After thinking about things more thoroughly, however, she arrived at a decision that she would completely abstain from all drinking situations.

When Jenny made this decision, she found out that her self-respect became stronger the better she managed her life. And as her self-worth grew, it seemed like she became more friendly and started attending more local functions such as strawberry festivals, Christmas tree lighting ceremonies, music festivals, flower festivals, carnivals, local high school football and basketball games, and rib roasts.

Jenny Faces Her Abusive and Excessive Drinking, Comes to a Decision To Do Something Constructive About It, and Rediscovers Her Faith

As the months went by, the people in the town exhibited more consideration for Jenny because she was intermingling with them more often and also because she addressed her drinking problem and did something affirmative about it. It may have been her imagination, but it also seemed as if her Sunday school students displayed more admiration and high regard for her.

Jenny is a living example of someone who faced a dangerous issue and who did something affirmative about it. She is also a person who found out that her religious faith is not only something that is private, but that it is also something that affects the way in which an individual relates to other people.

Indeed, due to his lassitude and lack of drive, he was out of a job far more frequently than he was in work. And when he did get a job, he had a very hard time getting to work when his shift began, he often got less than optimal performance assessments, and he called off sick so many times that he commonly got fired two or three weeks after he began working. To no one’s surprise, one of the effects of Jesse’s less than stellar employment record was the fact that he was just about flat broke almost on an everyday basis.

Regardless of Jesse’s poor employment record and financial misconduct, then again, one way or another he managed to drink in a hazardous manner almost everyday.

So it came as no big surprise when Jesse got a fourth DWI. When he went before the court, the magistrate clearly stated to Jesse that his alcohol-related actions was appalling and, as a result, he was going to sentence Jesse to spend twelve months incarcerated in jail.

Time In Jail To Think About The Demoralizing Outcomes of Abusive and Excessive Drinking

During his time in jail, Jesse was required to learn more about alcohol facts, about the injurious consequences of excessive drinking, and he was expected to get alcohol treatment. The magistrate accentuated the fact that unless Jesse gets professional alcohol therapy and discovers how to live a life of sobriety, he will most likely be spending a lot more time in the local jail.

Jesse stated that he grasped what the magistrate was pronouncing but he still stated that jail was not the best judgment. The judge saw things from an entirely different orientation and claimed that it was his responsibility to keep individuals off the streets who drive and drink and who receive multiple DWIs. To substantiate this statement, the magistrate listed some revered, comprehensively researched alcohol statistics that underscored some of the devastating outcomes that are related to excessive and abusive drinking.

Even though Jesse knew that he drank excessively, he never felt that he was an individual who was addicted to alcohol. So it was a real bombshell when Jesse began having alcohol withdrawal symptoms roughly three-and-a-half hours after getting locked up in the municipal jail.

To deal with his alcohol withdrawal symptoms in a safe manner, Jesse was transferred to a drug and alcohol treatment center for alcohol detox and then brought back to the local jail. While locked up in the local jail Jesse got alcohol rehab but since he received this counseling as something that was forced upon him, he neglected to take ownership of his irresponsible drinking.

When his time in the city jail was over, the magistrate without indecision announced to Jesse that he would be under strict scrutiny and would be required to take periodic random breath alcohol tests.

Jessie’s Irresponsible and Excessive Drinking Prevents Him From Living in a Productive and Accountable Manner

After hearing how Jesse did not take ownership of his drinking circumstances and how he unenthusiastically followed the treatment regimen while in the county jail, the magistrate knew that it was only a matter of time before he would be seeing Jesse once again in court about his careless drinking behavior. As the judge reflected on Jesse’s situation, he couldn’t help but think about how some people never “connect the dots” and learn how to live in a responsible and productive manner.

An Old Relationship Augments Jesse’s Self Esteem and Motivates and Inspires Him to Significantly Alter His Life

But something happened in Jesse’s life that completely changed his unproductive lifestyle. One day when he was at the local beverage store buying chewing tobacco, he met Alice, a girl he hadn’t seen since the eighth grade. After some small talk, Alice openly told Jesse that due to her drug and alcohol abuse she was fortunate to be alive.

When Jesse asked her what happened that changed her life so totally, she told Jesse that when her cousin Claudia died from alcohol poisoning, this forced her to see the unhealthy and ruinous life she had been living.

She stressed the point that the first thing she did after her cousin’s funeral service was to begin going back to her family church. That was eight years ago and with the guidance, help, and support of her pastor and other people who attended her parish, she started going to Alcoholics Anonymous and she also got alcohol and drug counseling at the local drug and alcohol treatment center. Alice told Jesse that despite a handful of rough moments, she is finally on the road to long lasting sobriety and feeling a sense of delight and joy for the first time in her adult life. When Jesse said “yes” to Alice’s invitation to attend her church she was pleasantly surprised. After going to about three or four church services, for the first time in his adult life, Jesse felt a strengthened sense of self esteem and began thinking that perhaps there was hope for him and that he could finally address his drug and alcohol issues and begin living a more healthy and beneficial life.
